The Institute
for Family Services (IFS) is a team of family therapists committed
to producing change that embraces safe, respectful, nurturing and
empowering relationships for all communities and families. Click

The Institute
is highly acclaimed throughout New Jersey and the nation for its
innovative programs that intervene with multiple family members
concerning issues of empowerment and accountability. The IFS faculty
teaches their expanded model of family therapy to postgraduates
and offers training in the Cultural Context Model at the state,

Dr.
Rhea Almeida, author, theorist, teacher, clinician and creator
of the Cultural Context Model, is regarded as one of the nation's
foremost experts on a liberation-based model of family therapy.
Her contributions to the field of family/community violence are widely acknowledged,
as are her contributions to men's work and white privilege/multiculturalism. She
was profiled in the Los Angeles Times, CNBC, National
Public Radio and Oxygen Media. In 1997 the Utne Reader
described her as one of ‘10 Outstanding Cultural Healers’
in the nation. She is consulted nationally and internationally for
her creative brilliance and her ability to bring an ethic of justice
and healing to all families. She was recently honored by the American
Family Therapy Academy for her innovative contributions to family
