About the Liberation Based Healing Conference

The Liberation Based Healing Conference (LBHC) is an annual two-day event that brings together scholars, activists, educators, student, staff, and community members from across the U.S. to engage in collective dialogue on how coloniality manifests in traditional education and therapeutic models. The panels use an intersectional lens to explore how markers like ability, age, class, citizenship, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, and sexual identity influence power dynamics and privilege.

Founded by the Institute for Family Services, the LBHC creates strategies to consider and rethink pathways for learning and healing outside of the Eurocentric paradigms. It’s a celebration of our work, creativity, and culture, and an opportunity to transform the world, both incrementally and profoundly.

Co-sponsored by: Tri-County Care Management Organization (CMO) of Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Counties, NJ.
